Genesis 20, 21 & 22
Did you know that Abraham is considered the first
prophet? (Gen 20:7)
Neither did I.
In Gen 20:13 Abraham says God had him wander from his
father’s household.
I love that informal peek into his life, that these are
the words he uses to describe why he left that home.
God had him wander.
And wonder if he went back for visits.
Sometimes you can go home again.
That is the place where they have your back, your whole
heart and your whole soul.
Where there is time and opportunity to look into each
other’s eyes and see there reflected back to you who you are created to
be.
It is there in the nuances and echoes of conversations.
In breaking bread, and dipping nachos, and eating grapes.
It is in the unhurried listening.
In the making and the taking of time.
Of making the space.
Of cultivating.
This is the nourishment and nurture for the heart and the
soul.
